About Director: - As one of the founders of the New Wave of Filmmaking that 'cleansed' French Cinema in the 1960s, Truffaut's first film '400Blows' (based on his own teens), remains one of cinema's greatest achievements. After a disturbed adolescence, Truffaut found a father figure in film critic Andre Bazin, who reined in the boundless energy of this restless youth. The result was a new way of film-making for France and some of the greatest films to come out of Europe including: 'Shoot the Piano Player', 'Jules and Jim', 'Day for Night' (Best Foreign Film Oscar), and 'Finally Sunday'.
